(caveat: I meant to post this on Monday, but time got away from me)
When I checked the weather last Sunday evening I could not believe my eyes, 80 degrees on Monday?! Steve was convinced this was a typo, but after checking three other weather sites and finding confirmation-we decided it must be true.
I stood in front of my closet Monday morning wondering what the heck to wear....
It always amazes me that on the first nice day of Spring, Baltimoreans utterly come out of hybernation. There were people in flip flops, I even saw a strapless sundress (aggressive for April if you ask me). Students were sitting out on the lawn of Johns Hopkins. It was Opening Day for the O's, glorious weather, and light traffic for my commute home. I happily rolled down the windows and blared country music.
When I got home I quickly loaded up B into the baby bjorn, grabbed Mackenzie and headed out into the neighborhood. I even embraced a pair of flip flops myself, although my feet are in no condition to be seen so I apologize for whomever in my neighborhood I may have offended;) Here is a shot of Springtime I was able to capture:
But Mother Nature in all her cruelty decided to snap us back to reality with rain, wind and chilly temperatures. But as we embarked on our family walk on Tuesday the crispness in the air reminded me of springtime in Blacksburg. The big white puffy clouds, sunshine and breeze brought me back to all those mountain spring seasons. So if nothing else, I can smile and reminisce and wait for the next fluke of 80 degrees (which apparently will be happening again on Monday.
p.s. "What the What" is my favorite 30 Rock expression, I use it whenever I can:) and I'm so sad that next season may be its last one.
